Our Process
The Story Behind Ovation
Backed by over 20 years of experience in the industry, DQ invests a lot of time and money developing new products using our in-house designers along with the R&D teams of our suppliers. We are always looking for better solutions or responding to customer requests for new solutions as their needs change. Many of our cases, whether it’s off-the-shelf or custom made, have been designed and developed from the ground up specifically for the Australian market.
With a team of industrial and mechanical engineering designers on board, DQ is able to design and build customised road case solutions tailored to your needs, whether it be a simple CNC cut foam insert to a fully custom case build.
Discover Ovation Cases
All our designs are created in full 3D allowing both the designer and the customer to visualise the final product before the first piece of plywood or foam has been cut.
The Ovation brand meets the market where there is no room for compromise in quality or lead time. Ovation Cases are strictly manufactured with quality laminated plywood, robust session hardware from the world’s two leading road case hardware manufacturers, Adam Hall and Penn Elcom,, and include cleverly designed fitouts that properly support and protect your valuable assets.
Our Design Process
CONCEPTUALISEit
First comes the idea, whether it be yours or ours. We listen to the brief, ask all the questions and gather all the information that will help determine what the final product will look like to meet the brief and be fit for purpose.
SKETCHit
Drawing up a brief design helps us flesh out the concept and will highlight the necessary design features.
QUOTEit
At this point we have enough information to determine a cost estimate to ensure that it is going fit with the budget. Even if the price is a ball park estimate, this can establish that fabrication if the product(s) is viable.
DESIGNit
he sketch and information gathered to date helps us to develop the concept into a fully-fledged 3D CAD design.
APPROVEit
We distribute the design to seek input and, ultimately, final approval.
PROGRAMMEit
The programming stage is a two-step process: a. Programming CAD files for manufacture. b. Programming the item(s) into the factory manufacturing schedule.
PROTOTYPEit
This step is very important for proof of design and allows us to make any amendments deemed necessary prior to moving into full production.
MANUFACTUREit
The concept becomes a reality.
DELIVERit
Our experienced team will choose the most appropriate logistics method the get the final product delivered.
Let's build amazing things together
